Construction of The Pouch Cells

Pouch casing are generally used for Lithium Polymer batteries with a solid electrolyte which provides low cost flexible structure for the batteries as per the requirements from the device design. In thin batteries Electrodes and Solid Electrolyte is generally layered or laminated in a staked manner and is usually packed in foil envelopes. Solid electrolyte makes batteries safe and leak proof.

Cylindrical Cells

The cylindrical lithium cell consists of cathode, anode and laminated sheet which is sandwiched in the middle, rolled up and then stuffed into a cylindrical container.

The cylindrical lithium batteries was the one which was mass produced first and which is still popular today.

The cylindrical cells has multiple stacks with the insulators are located at the opposite sides and the adhesives are connected with the busbars wit the wielding technology and are optionally bonded. In this structure no support plate is required.
